Where and how to do it?
El Puertito de Adeje: A small cove of black sand frequented by green turtles and multiple species of fish. With a volcanic background, it is located in a fishing district.
La Pared de El Palmar: This place abounds with the most exotic genre of the island, including turtles. In front of you, there is a rocky wall approximately 25 meters deep on average.
Costa Sauzal: In the north of the island, this area of rocky bottom contains many small species such as sargos, salemas, viejas, pejeverdes, and black fulas.
Punta Teno: Our favorite cove in Buenavista. With stone bottoms, it’s perfect for spending a day at the beach with the family and for beginners to snorkel. It is isolated of the winds that usually whip the area. It is perfect for the activity at any time of the year.
Las Gaviotas: In front of us, a small bathing area with a sandy bottom near the popular Las Teresitas beach, next to the beautiful views of Punta de los Órganos. This volcanic formation is full of wonderful underwater life. It is about a 30-minute drive from the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
El Bollullo Beach: Near Puerto de La Cruz, this small beach with a volcanic bottom has a good variety of fish species and underwater flora. It is a less known location and for that reason, it is not recommended to go there in winter for the levels of danger that reaches the sea.
Caleta de Interián: located between Garachico and Los Silos and surrounded by numerous plantations, this area provides a rich rocky bottom where you can observe local species. After the excursion, you can relax in the colourful village that surrounds the beach. The area has several places protected from the open sea, where you can rest and let children enjoy a quiet bath.
