aware (although no one more than those affected and their families) of <span style=\"color: #109bc5;\"><strong>the difficulties that people with disabilities have to face in their daily lives<\/strong>;<\/span> apart from the complications specific to each disability, there are the physical and other barriers and limitations that still exist in our societies. What is the situation of accessibility in Tenerife in terms of tourism? <\/p><blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #109bc5;\">The fight for accessibility in Tenerife is a daily and constant work.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote><p>From the institutional level, the island authorities have been committed for years to <span style=\"color: #109bc5;\"><strong>eliminating and reducing the difficulties<\/strong><\/span> that this part of society must face. In 1993, the <a href=\"https:\/\/sinpromi.es\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Island Society for the Promotion of Persons with Disabilities<\/a> (SINPROMI) was created with this objective. There is still a lot of work to be done in this regard, but the situation has improved considerably in recent decades.  <\/p><p>On the other hand, numerous private entities, companies and individuals within the tourism sector contribute their grain of sand to improve the conditions of what has come to be called<span style=\"color: #109bc5;\"> <strong>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tenerifepass.net\/turismo-accesible-en-tenerife\/\">accessible tourism<\/a>&#8220;,<\/strong><\/span> minimising architectural barriers and access to services where possible: accommodation, recreational spaces, sports areas, restaurants&#8230;<\/p><p>Pedestrian walkways, beaches and puddles, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tenerifepass.net\/en\/hiking-in-tenerife\/\">viewpoints and trails<\/a>, museums and exhibition and performance halls, shops and shopping centres, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/searchresults.es.html?region=777&amp;aid=2049460&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hotels<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tenerifepass.net\/en\/transport-in-tenerife\/\">means of transport<\/a> and car parks, bars and cafes, tourist offices, sports facilities&#8230;
