How to get to Masca

After the curves, paradise

BY CAR

Masca is one of the most attractive places on the island of Tenerife, but much of its charm lies in its location, isolated among the mountains of the Teno Massif. Knowing how to get to Masca is not complicated, but it takes patience and some driving expertise.

The TF-436 is the only road to Masca

Most visitors come to enter the ravine and the beach of Masca. If you come to make an excursion and you don’t know how to get to Masca, you should know that there is a catch: among the many options to make this route more complete and bearable is to leave the car in Los Gigantes, go up to Masca by taxi, walk down the ravine to the beach and return to Los Gigantes by boat.

If you are determined to come driving, the only road that crosses Masca is the TF-436, a secondary (and twisted) road that connects Santiago del Teide and Buenavista del Norte, in the northwest of the island; since Santiago is the end of the TF-1, you will surely come from there. It may help to have the GPS coordinates of Masca: 28°18′19″N 16°50′25″W.

BY BUS

If we want to come by bus to Masca we have two options, two lines of the TITSA company: line 355 (Buenavista-Santiago) and line 365 (Lomo de Masca). In these links you will find the schedules and all the other details you need to know to know how to get to Masca.

To combine different bus lines depending on your place of origin, we advise you to use this TITSA app and search on the map Masca (Tenerife) to find the option that best suits your needs.
