You can paraglide in Tenerife all year round without any problem, however, the summer months are usually more active than the rest of the year. Keep in mind that in winter you may occasionally have complications because the activity needs a favorable time to be carried out.
If you have no experience in paragliding, all the companies on the list below offer flights with pilots, so you just have to relax and enjoy the experience. Minors can also fly with express parental permission and the company’s approval.
What can I expect from paragliding in Tenerife?
You can practice paragliding in all kinds of altitudes, durations and thanks to the abundance of microclimates of the island, scenarios. If you have your own equipment and you already know how to fly, we recommend that you bring it, since it is not common to rent this type of equipment due to its personal nature.

If you want to take advantage and paraglide as a family, you can take minors with the express authorization of the parents or legal guardians. Don’t forget that the final approval is reserved for the companies in order to guarantee the safety of the descent.

Remember that the island has different microclimates so the cold and cloudy day at your hotel can turn into a day of sun and heat at the location of your flight. Likewise, the company reserves the right to cancel or postpone the activity due to bad weather, in which case, they will offer you a refund of the money or a different date to carry out the activity.
Landing on the beaches is usually forbidden in summer due to the high density of bathers, but don’t worry, there are alternative landings not too far away in most cases so you won’t see your departure reduced. Either way, there are enough outings that don’t end at beaches so you won’t notice the change. Ask the company if you have any doubts about where the activity starts or ends, as well as the duration of the activity.
Depending on the length and difficulty you can expect anywhere from 15 minutes to about an hour of descent. The highest point from which to start the activity is Izaña – the highest paragliding point in Europe at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level apart.
