Enjoy a fantastic cultural experience; Museums in Tenerife
If you want to dedicate one or more days on your holidays to soak up new knowledge, look no further: The Museums in Tenerife are perfect for a change of pace and relaxation while learning very interesting things.
Most of the museums on the island have fairly affordable entrance prices, and some, such as the Museum of Science and The Cosmos , are free on Sundays.
Soak up knowledge at the island’s museums.
If you want to learn about the culture of the island and its history, there are museums in Tenerife for all tastes, such as the Military Historical Museum of the Canary Islands, the Telesforo Bravo Visitor Center, the Guanche Museum (the Guanches are the aborigines who lived in the Canary Islands before the arrival of the Spaniards), the Casa de los Balcones, as well as the Museum of Nature and Archaeology (MUNA).
If you want to visit an unconventional space, the Pyramids of Güímar offer a perfect window into the past for you to marvel at the impressive architecture of the pyramids and the legends that surround them.
These museums remain open most of the day. They usually have a place where you can have lunch and snacks. In them you can find a wide variety of traditional souvenirs, especially in museums with a Canarian theme.
Some of these enclosures such as the Pyramids of Güímar or the Casa de los Balcones are best enjoyed in sunny weather, but they are still a good visit in case of rain.
Visiting museums is usually an activity that will take you a good part of the day. We recommend that you dedicate several hours to each one so that you can visit them quietly, so if you plan to visit several, think about organizing yourself to visit a maximum of two venues each day or one per day if it is far from your hotel. Museums don’t offer free transportation to the facilities, so you’ll need to use public transportation to get there, rent a car, or hire a taxi.
