Masca is one of the most visited corners of the island of Tenerife, and with good reason: here we can do one of the most spectacular hiking routes we can imagine, descending through the Masca ravine to Masca beach. 4 hours, 7 kilometres, 700 metres of elevation gain between basalt walls and overwhelming landscapes.
Boat schedules to Los Gigantes are key
Since access to the ravine is free of charge, the schedules of excursions in Masca depend on you. But going up the ravine is much more complicated than going down it, so practically everyone takes a boat on the beach to reach Los Gigantes in about 15 minutes. Therefore, the schedule of the boats that make this route is the key to making your experience in Masca satisfactory.
There are many companies that run guided tours in the ravine, and several complete the Masca trail with a boat ride to (or from) Los Gigantes. You can buy tickets at the beach pier, but if you book in advance you will secure your place at the time you prefer.
