Santiago del Teide is a municipality located in the southeast of the island of Tenerife that stands out for its tranquillity, its excellent climate and its natural wealth. Puerto Santiago – Los Gigantes is located in the coastal area of Santiago del Teide. This town welcomes most of the tourists who come to this municipality. And it’s no wonder, as it has excellent black sand beaches: Playa de la Arena and Playa de los Guíos. From the latter you will get a spectacular panoramic view of the Cliff of the Giants, a wonder of nature that at some points reaches 600 meters in altitude. This cliff has become an emblem not only of the municipality of Santiago del Teide, but also of the island of Tenerife. It is, therefore, one of the essential things to see in Santiago del Teide.

Puerto Santiago also has a marina, from which boat trips depart to spot cetaceans and contemplate the imposing cliff up close.

In the upper area of the municipality, specifically at an altitude of almost 1000 metres, is the Historic Village of Santiago del Teide. It is the administrative center of the municipality, with historic buildings such as the Church of San Fernando Rey, the Pottery Center and Ethnographic Museum Cha Domitila or the Casa del Patio. A small village with a lot of charm and surrounded by pine forests that is worth a visit.

And finally, another of the points of interest to see in Santiago del Teide is the Chinyero Nature Reserve, with 24 kilometres of extension and which also occupies the neighbouring municipalities of El Tanque and Garachico.
