Santiago del Teide is a municipality located in the southeast of the island of Tenerife. It stands out for its tranquility and the natural environment that surrounds it. The nearest airport, as you can see on the map of Santiago del Teide, is Tenerife South – Reina Sofia Airport, located about 44 kilometres away. Meanwhile, Tenerife North Airport is located 66 kilometres away. Whatever airport you arrive at, it will be very easy to get to this wonderful municipality by car.

On the map of Santiago del Teide you will find two main areas: the historic center of the municipality, at an altitude of about 1000 meters, and the coastal area, made up of Puerto Santiago – Los Gigantes. 

The upper area of the municipality, known as the Historic Village of Santiago del Teide, is a small and picturesque town through which a main artery runs: Avenida de La Iglesia. This road is very frequented by vehicles and along it you can admire the most important points of interest, such as the Church of San Fernando Rey, the City Hall, the Santiago del Teide Recreational Area or the Hotel La Casona del Patio.

In the coastal area you can easily identify the Puerto de los Gigantes on the map of Santiago del Teide, from where different boat trips depart to watch cetaceans. 

Right next to it stretches the Playa de los Guíos, with black sand and spectacular panoramic views of the imposing Cliff of the Giants, the main icon of the municipality with its 600 metres of altitude. This beach is not the only one in  Puerto Santiago, since you will also find the Playa de la Arena, located in the area with the greatest atmosphere and movement on the coast. 

Parallel to this beach is a long avenue with different restaurants, shops and hotels. Ideal for walking after taking a good dip!
