What things to see in Anaga: Wonderful landscapes, wild beaches

The Anaga Rural Park is a protected natural area that is part of the municipalities of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Tegueste. Its landscapes are a clear example of the contrasts of Tenerife, ranging from arid places in the south to thick and humid forests on the northern slopes. This is due to the microclimates and the abrupt orography of the island. We tell you everything you have to see in Anaga… One of the natural jewels of Tenerife!

He studies nature, he loves nature, hereAttack nature. Never let you down á” – Frank Lloyd Wright

Declared a Biosphere Reserve, entering the Anaga Rural Park is an experience for the senses. You will be able to admire breathtaking views thanks to the conjunction of different natural elements: sharp mountains, deep valleys and ravines, a varied flora and fauna, small farmhouses and the sea as a backdrop.

One of its main treasures is its thousand-year-old laurel forest, which dates back to the Tertiary period and is a must-see in Anaga. Today it is practically disappeared in the world, with Tenerife being one of the few places where it has survived. The best way to explore it is through its trails, where you can distinguish different species such as laurels, lichens, heather, mocans, willows, among others. A magical journey that will take you back millions of years!

Another point of interest to see in Anaga are its picturesque hamlets. In total, 26 small nuclei are divided into different parts of this town, and together they add up to approximately 2000 inhabitants. They are the perfect stop to recharge your batteries and have a drink or a bite to eat in their restaurants before continuing the route. In addition to mountains with thick vegetation, the coast of Anaga also has wild beaches that look like something out of a postcard. Playa del Benijo, Taganana and Almáciga are a must-see. Ideal for taking a dip in a unique natural environment!
